Merzouga Local Desert Experience
- Camel ride to the desert camp
- Full Merzouga 4x4 exploration
- Madfouna baked in the desert
- Sandboarding + 1-hour quad or buggy
Ride into the dunes, sleep at a desert camp, taste Madfouna baked in the desert, eat under an acacia tree, sandboard the dunes and explore the landscapes Mohamed grew up around.

The point is not only to sleep in the Sahara. It is to spend enough time in Merzouga to eat, ride, explore and understand the desert beyond the usual overnight stop.

Mohamed is originally from Merzouga and has been welcoming and helping travelers in the area since 2002. He knows the dunes, tracks, oases, nomad areas and small details that turn a desert visit into a real local experience.
Instead of sending guests from one standard stop to another, Mohamed focuses on the parts he would show friends visiting his home: where to slow down, where to eat outside, where to watch the light change, and which off-road tracks are worth taking.
Rather than ordering it in a restaurant, Mohamed prepares the traditional stuffed Berber bread and bakes it in the sand, then serves it outdoors in the desert area.
Many desert tours include the same restaurant stops. This version turns lunch into part of the day: preparation, fire, sand, food and time together in the landscape.
Mohamed will give you the meeting and parking instructions before arrival. Your vehicle stays parked while you continue into the desert.
The accommodation is at Sirocco Luxury Desert Camp or a similar standard, depending on the confirmed arrangement. All communication and booking is handled through Mohamed.
